Review: Avon Nutra Effects Hydrating Gel Cream + GIVEAWAY!

Avon Nutra Effects Hydrating Gel Cream *

For the past few months I've been having some annoying skin problems. Namely, I got some sort of allergy, which  caused breakouts on my cheeks, little spots that weren't acne spots, they were just itchy and dried up my skin. I first thought the blusher I had been using at the time was out of date and I chucked it in the bin. That was a mistake, because it turned out, the blusher wasn't to blame. I went to the pharmacy where they offered me a thick cream that was supposed to help with this, but it somehow made things even worse. I know pharmacists don't know everything and they can only advise so much, but I was really disappointed for shelling out 15€ for a cream that made my condition even worse.

When I almost gave up on moisturizers and was about to call my doctor for an appointment, I received some Avon goodies to test out. Among those goodies was also this Avon Nutraeffects hydrating gel cream. I was a bit on the fence about it, due to my recent experience with skincare, but I ditched the old moisturizer and started using this one. Turns out, my thinking that I needed a thick, balmy cream for my dry, itchy skin was wrong, all I needed was a light, gel cream and it made everything better. Thank god I didn't call my doctor for an appointment about those weird spots on my face, because this thing worked it out on its own. I was very pleasantly surprised, because I thought I'd need at least some hardcore pharmaceuticals to get rid of that pesky allergy, or whatever it was.

The cream has a gel consistency, which means  it's as light as air and very suitable for normal, combination and oily skin. I was surprised to see it even took care of my dry patches. It has a wonderful, fresh scent. It is hypoallergenic, doesn't contain parabens and it's suitable for sensitive skin. One of its main ingredients are chia seeds, which have many proven nutrition and health benefits. Some of them are high content of fiber, antioxidants (vitamin E, which battles wrinkles and puffiness), protein, omega-3 fatty acids, zinc (one of the most important minerals, which battles acne), magnesium and potassium.

The packaging itself is very neat, the cream is packed in a sturdy glass container, covered with a plastic lid. The only thing I miss about the packaging is a plastic applicator, because I don't like poking in my skincare with my fingers. But it's no big deal if you wash your hands before applying it. Hygiene is key in skincare, babes!

I received one extra pot and I'll give it away to one lucky reader! All you have to do to enter is described in the Rafflecopter below. And don't forget to check out the giveaway going on my Facebook page, where I'm giving away an Avon Luxe eyeshadow palette! :)

Love,
N. xx

  3. Tole bi pa z veseljem preizkusila, ker se od lanskega poletja borim z grdo kožo, česar prej nisem bila vajena. Imam tudi sama precej suho kožo in me res zanima, kako bi izgledalo pri meni :)
